The following is a list of all departments at Vulcan and a brief outline of what you should know to work in these departments.
Engineering
  • This is where all the jobs are quoted and processed to get ready for the shop floor. A complete understanding of the entire shop floor is required. Background in CAD/CAM, computer and math skills are a must.

Shearing

  • The fabrication cycle starts here. You must have good math skills, must be able to use measuring tools and organize large volumes of material. Forklift truck operation is essential.

CNC Turret Punch Press

  • Good mechanical abilities are required to setup and run these machines. Blue print reading and math skills are a must along with being able to use measuring tools.

CNC Laser

  • Good mechanical abilities and computer operation knowledge are required to run and setup these machines. The ability to read blue prints, math skills and use of measuring tools are also required.

Timesaver

  • Mechanical ability, blue print reading, measuring tools and organizational skills are required to operate this equipment.

Bridgeport

  • Good mechanical abilities are required to setup and run these machines. Blue print reading, computer knowledge and math skills are a must along with being able to use measuring tools.

Brake (Forming)

  • Mechanical ability, blue print reading and use of measuring tools are needed to setup and operate this equipment.

Shearing

  • The fabrication cycle starts here. You must have good math skills, must be able to use measuring tools and organize large volumes of material. Forklift truck operation is essential.

Assembly

  • Good mechanical abilities, manual dexterity, blue print reading and math skills are a must along with being able to use measuring instruments.

Welding and Spotwelding

  • The ability to use TIG welding equipment for light gage aluminum, steel and stainless steel is required along with blue print reading, math skills, ability to use measuring tools and design locating fixtures.

Grinding

  • Mechanical ability, blue print reading and use of measuring tools are needed to produce finished parts that meet customer specifications.

Quality

  • Blue print reading, use of a variety of measuring tools, interpersonal and communication skills are needed to ensure that finished parts meet customer expectations and specifications.
